Negative photos of X-rays of the famous bust of Nefertitis (Nofrete) (c. 1370 BC - c. 1330 BC). Germanys perhaps most infamous artwork. The story suspended in the original bust is the myth of eternal and universal beauty. The X-ray and prints simply displays the result of an investigation into the interior into the bust that has fascinated people through centuries. After having searched the bust for content the museum simply did not find anything inside the artpiece.

The Nofrete bust is one of the most copied works of ancient Egypt. To this day this fascination remains still a mystery. Notoriously the appearance of Nofretes unversally attractive features have caused constant spotlight since it was stolen from Egypt by German scientists in the late 19th century. The X-rays were developed as the clinical investigation into if something was present in the inside of the bust of Nofrete (still property of the Alte Museum, Berlin). Nothing was found inside the bust and the X-rays therefore deemed somewhat useless. This series symbolising the empty and needless quest of modern science in the search for material answers to larger questions. 7 motives. Framed in antique painted framings.
